30 Years of Mississippi River Erosion from Space

SkyTruth, the environmental organization that combines crowdsourcing and satellite imagery, posted a timelapse video showing the erosion of the Mississippi River Delta. As canals and levees disrupt the flow of silt into the delta, the Gulf of Mexico eats away at the wetlands that host wildlife and protect the Louisiana coast during hurricanes.
