Manx Students Blasting Rockets Over the UK

Isle of Man Today continued coverage of the local high school rocket teams that will compete in the UK Aerospace Youth Rocketry Challenge.

The news gets a particular focus on the self-governing island in the Irish Sea. The Isle of Man hosts many of Europe's remote sensing and telecommunications companies thanks to an economic development program focused on the space industry.

The UK Aerospace Youth Rocketry Challenge encourages students to study science and engineering by giving them a hands-on opportunity to design, build, and fly rockets in competition. The two teams from the Isle of Man will compete against 20 other student rocket teams from across the United Kingdom. The winners of the UK Aerospace Youth Rocketry Challenge will represent Britain in the International Rocketry Challenge where national teams from France, Japan, and the US will meet.
